See How High Gas Prices Effect Your Mountain Vacation

How is the high price of gasoline affecting the tourism market in the Mountains, Asheville North Carolina?

My answer to those that have concerns is, “When you see the Biltmore Estate disappear, call me.” This phenomenal landmark has secured Asheville’s number one spot on the best places to visit list, since the family decided to open their doors. Yes, gas prices have contributed to people taking longer to book and sometimes waiting until the last minute to make their desperate call for a comfortable cozy place to stay. Calls coming in after the gas hike, this year, seemed to create a one-month lag from the norm. Also, when the tourist calls there are a lot more questions. They want to make sure they are getting value for every dollar they spend. Since www.carolinamountainrental.com has been sound and stable for over 10 years, directing focus on affordable family vacations, the new requirements have not put any pressure on bookings. It is standard for Asheville NC Cabins, www.carolinamountainrental.com to have a friendly accommodating voice to answering the phone from early morning to late evening. This kind of quality service is even more essential in today’s market. The visitor does not want to take any risks with their pennies so a calendar with a box to check just doesn’t cut the mustard anymore when they call for help in finding cozy cabins with hot tubs and views.

In Buncombe County, Asheville cabins have had another shift. Hotels wanted the lions share of the vacation business so an amendment passed that eliminate cabins. The rezoning made it illegal to have a vacation cabin close in to town. See www.ashevillecabins.blogspot.com for details. This is not an unusual occurrence, because as with progress, comes change. So I am not saying this is a bad thing.

There is yet another reason for confusion in the area. When a person types in Asheville Cabins at least twenty listings come up. This is very confusing for visitors wanting to find cabins that are truly close to downtown Asheville. Also, www.maps.google.com,
is not a perfect science. When a tourist types in Asheville, they get another town called Weaverville and a street called Biltmore represented as downtown Asheville. Unfortunately, this is inaccurate. Weaverville since I pass it everyday on my 40-minute drive home is definitely NOT in downtown Asheville. The cabins on those streets have capitalized on this mistake, as it is misleading for the tourist that are expecting to book a Asheville NC Cabin and end up close to downtown. Even with these issue, Asheville visitors keep coming for fun in the mountains in large quantities. It’s easy, to drive to location, continues to make it a popular destination for family fun. The Asheville Chamber of Commerce once told me that Asheville is such a great place that if a person visits seven times, they end up moving.

Many additional activities are easy to access from Asheville such as: Chimney Rock, Nanthalaha White Water Rafting, Boone Skiing, Weaverville Snow boarding, Gen Mining Camps, Hot Springs, Gatlinburg shopping and rides for the kids, horseback riding, Douglas Falls hiking, Blue ridge Parkway Visitors centers, Blue grass music and on and on. Asheville North Carolina in the Mountains of Western North Carolina is still a great value and a family destination that you deserve.
